Healthy Lunch Options for Your Trip to Hana
The Road to Hana is arguably Maui’s most popular visitor attraction. Whether you love animals, care about the environment, or want to eat the healthiest possible food, many plant-based lunch options are available.
Near the airport and open 6 am - 9 pm Monday through Saturday and 7 am - 9 pm Sunday, Down to Earth is Hawaii’s leading retailer of organic and natural foods since 1977. Near the airport, it’s a great place to stock up on food for your condo.
Across the street from Costco and close to the airport is Ahonui Foods, a food truck that that offers delicious and creative lunch items. If you’re in the mood for an invigorating and healthful smoothie, try Choice Health Bar in Pā'ia, to the east.
As you head further east to Haʻikū, Rainbow Kitchen is another plant-based food truck where you can pick up a Killer Breakfast Burrito. Continuing east on the Road to Hana, about 10 minutes past Twin Falls is the final plant-based establishment, Maui Garden Grove Cafe, featuring Hawaiian curry and chili.
After negotiating about 22 miles of twists and turns, you should be ready for dessert. Stop at the beloved Coconut Glen’s for the famous non-dairy ice cream.
