Maui’s Must-See Beaches
Maui has many wonderful beaches, but if your time is limited, here are a few you won’t want to miss.
Located on Maui’s northwest coast, Kapalua Bay Beach is crescent-shaped with golden sand and gentle waters. This beach is great for snorkeling and relaxing. Lava rock formations create a peaceful cove with abundant marine life.
On the southwestern coast of Maui, Wailea Beach features soft sand, clear water, and a luxurious feel. If you like swimming, sunbathing, and watching sea turtles this is a great choice. It’s also near upscale resorts and restaurants.
Makena Beach (Big Beach) in South Maui is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on Valley Isle. Dramatic cliffs, golden sand, and powerful waves make this beach memorable, and it’s ideal for sunbathing, photography, and bodyboarding. Be aware of the shore break.
If you are up for a brief hike, you will enjoy Honolua Bay on the northwest coast of Maui. A short scenic trail leads to an outstanding snorkeling spot!
